GeographyThe Rural Municipality of Langford is located in western Manitoba. The municipality is easily accessible by Provincial Trunk Highway 5 and Provincial Trunk Highway 16 (The Yellowhead Route). Provincial Road 465 also services the municipality.
The R.M. of Langford surrounds the southern half of the Town of Neepawa. The meandering Boggy Creek winds its way from the southern portion of the municipality, to the northern portion and passes by the fertile and scenic beauty of this part of the province. |
Economic BaseFarming is the major activity in Langford and its surrounding municipalities. It is well nown that the three municipalities that surround Neepawa produce annual agricultural sales in excess of $50 million. The local region surrounding Langford also boasts many agricultural related businesses and services. Due to its location along PTH 16, Langford is well connected to western and eastern markets. PTH 5 also intersects the Trans Canada Highway making Langford open to even more markets to the south. The residents of Langford depend on the Town of Neepawa for many of their educational and recreational needs. Neepawa houses a strong educational infrastructure that provides several elementary and secondary schools and post-secondary training. |
