The Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground is being built in honour of West Shore RCMP Constable Sarah Beckett, who was killed in the line of duty on April 5, 2016. There will be two sections of the playground, one area with equipment suitable for 2-5 year olds, and one area for 5-12 year olds. The playground and family plaza will be located adjacent to Westhill Stadium.

The playground is set to open on August 24, coinciding with the grand opening of the new Westhills Stadium. Various fundraising initiatives are currently underway, with a goal of raising $250,000 to fund the building of the playground.

The Rotary of West Shore is actively raising money for the Sarah Beckett Memorial Playground.  Online donations are being accepted through their website along with the option to purchase an engraved memorial brick for the playground. Please visit the Rotary’s website for more information and to make a donation.
