Council and Committee Meeting Procedures

  • We have reduced regular Council meetings to once per month.
  • As Council Chambers are currently closed to the public due to COVID-19, we have added a call-in option for the public to attend and participate in Council meetings and public hearings. Please check our homepage (langford.ca) for the call-in information on the day of the meeting you wish to call-in for.
  • We have amended our procedure bylaw to allow Council to call in for meetings until the end of the WHO pandemic.
  • Committee meetings are set to resume in July. Please review the meeting calendar for more information.

Application and Building Plan Drop-Off

  • Whenever possible, all interactions with contractors etc. will take place via phone or email.
  • If documents need to be dropped off at City Hall, it can be done through the existing drop box, or in the case of building plans or other larger documents we have set up a larger box in the first floor lobby for them to be dropped in.
  • We ask that you phone us to let us know that your documents have been dropped off and we will then go downstairs and retrieve them (if you wish to stay until we have collected them you may, but you must do so from outside the building looking in through the front door in order to maintain a safe physical distance).

Permit Pickup & Payment Processes

  • When a permit is ready for pickup and/or an in-person payment is necessary, we will contact you to schedule an appointment.
  • To limit the number of people coming into City Hall, appointments are only for those people that need to pay in person

Accepted Payment Methods

  • Cheque payments can continue, either through the drop box outside, or by appointment in the office.
  • Interac debit payments will be only as absolutely necessary, and by appointment only.
  • We ask that you please avoid paying by cash.

Property Tax Payments

  • PAY AND CLAIM YOUR HOME OWNER GRANT BEFORE JULY 31, 2020 TO AVOID PENALTY.
  • The 2020 property tax due date was July 2nd, 2020. City Hall remains closed for walk-in traffic due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Access to City Hall is by appointment only. If you have questions, please contact the Property Tax Dept at (250) 391-3410 or finance@langford.ca. Stay home, stay safe, stay online.
