Peatt at Brock Roundabout Improvement Project

The roundabout at the intersection of Peatt Road, Brock Avenue, and Larkhall Road is going to be reconstructed to improve traffic flow, allow for better turning movements for Langford’s fire trucks, and improve general safety for vehicle, cyclist, and pedestrian traffic.

The reconstruction will be staged.  The first part of the reconstruction will include:

  • Three legs of the roundabout, north and southbound on Peatt Road and westbound on Brock Road;
  • Two Improved pedestrian crossings (on Peatt north of Brock; on Brock west of Peatt), both with flashing pedestrian lights and pedestrian refuge islands;
  • Improved movements for fire trucks and emergency response vehicles. Fire staff have been part of the drawing reviews for this project and
  • Support from ICBC for the safety improvements.

The remaining Larkhall leg of the roundabout will be done at a future date when Larkhall will be expanded to include traffic in both directions. The timing of this stage is not known at this time.

Work is permitted Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 5:00 pm with single lane alternating traffic permitted on Peatt Road.  The Contractor has an approved Traffic Management Plan in place.  Southbound traffic along Peatt Road may be detoured, except for local residents, during work hours.  Full traffic will be reinstated at the end of each work day.

Assuming no weather delays the City is hoping to see this project completed early Fall. This project is funded through the City’s Road Development Cost Charge program.
