Lest We Forget

A crowd of thousands filled Veterans Memorial Park and the surrounding streets for the Remembrance Day ceremony on Tuesday November 11. A Colour Party from the Prince Edward branch of the Royal Canadian Legion led by former members of the West Shore RCMP Detachment dressed in Red Serge led the parade into the park for the ceremonies, which mark the day Canadians officially pay their respects to those who gave their lives in service to their country.

Many local veterans, organizations, politicians and invited guests laid wreaths to commemorate those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so Canadians can enjoy the freedoms and traditions that others fought so valiantly to defend.
