The Board of Variance is an independent body that makes decisions on applications for minor development variances where compliance with regulations would cause undue hardship within the City of Langford.

Addresses all matters of parks and recreation, community safety, and administration and finance.

Capital West Accessibility Advisory Committee

Addresses Planning and Engineering related matters, as applications and issues often require Planning and Engineering considerations in tandem.

Applicants that have been working with a City staff member in the Planning Department wishing to present in respect to their application at a Sustainable Development Advisory Committee meeting are advised of the information outlined below.

Committee Meetings are held in our Council Chambers (3rd Floor of City of Langford Municipal Hall 877 Goldstream Avenue V9B 2X8) and begin at 7:00pm.

Please work with the Planner assigned to your file regarding presentation content, keeping in mind you will have 5 minutes to present to the Committee.

Please submit your completed presentation to the planner assigned to your file by Monday, two weeks in advance of the meeting. The table below includes deadlines organized by Committee meeting date:

Presentation Content:
In addition to the presentation content requested by your planner, please ensure your presentation is free of personal identifying information or photos of any persons.

If you are embedding a link to a video or website, please bring it to our attention for I.T.

The Planning Department will forward your completed presentation to the Legislative Services department for final review.

NOTE: If any amendments are needed, you will be contacted.

Preparing for the Meeting:
The agenda for the meeting will be published no later than 4:30 p.m. on the Friday before the meeting. To view the agenda, please use this link: https://langford.ca/meetings/

Your 5-minute presentation time will be followed by further time for questions and answers from the Committee and Public. Please keep your answers concise without revisiting your presentation.

Please arrive at the meeting 15 minutes early to receive a briefing from our I.T. and Legislative Services departments.
